Overview

Part of the Fireside Henty Series, written by an English novelist and war correspondent, George Alfred Henty. He is best known for his works of adventure fiction. W. L. Allison Co. (and Wm. L. Alison Co.) published this series in about 1898, and the same 37 titles were published as "Henty Series" by Mershon Co. and Geo M. Hill Co. Later, M. A. Donohue Co. used the same cover format for its "Fireside Henty Series" which combined titles from both this series and Allison's Fireside Series. Brown clothbound hardcover book with deisgns in black and blue on front board and spine. Stained green faded edges. 1900-1906 estimated publication date. Inscription on first free endpaper reads: "A Merry X Mas from your Aunt Rose to Clarence Strand, 1902". Illustrated by Gordon Browne.
