Nice tight tan cloth binding with black and blue decorations on the front board and titles on the spine. The spine ends is worn and a little torn and the corners are a little worn. Page ends and endpapers are a little browned with a inked owner's name & town on the front free endpaper. The author's account of how life used to be in the Mississippi River delta. Includes his 1935 "God Shakes Creation" and his 1947 expansion. He covers how blacks and whites viewed each other and themselves. First printing thus.
