This the first and only authorized Russian-language edition of Winnie-the-Pooh and The House at Pooh Corner published in the West! It features 7 color plates and numerous black and white drawings throughout the text. The art was created by Soviet artists Boris Diodorov and Gennady Kalinovsky. This copy is in remarkable condition! The jacket has no chips or rips and the yellow binding is still holding strong. Fantastic condition for a book this old and scarce! "In 1967, the president of E.P. Dutton purposely photographed and replicated the Soviet edition without paying royalties to the USSR. He openly called it a legal "plagiarism" to settle a score with DETGIZ (the Soviet Union's children's literature publishing company). For decades, Soviet publishers had been reprinting English-language Dutton books without permission or copyright payments. Dutton used their own legal rights to A.A. Milne's work to print and sell this Russian version in the United States."
