First book in the Lensman series. First edition, number 474 out of 500 numbered copies, inscribed by the author "Doc" E.E. Smith. Blue boards with gold lettering on the spine. No dustjacket. Spine is tight, corners lightly bumped, lettering on spine is faded, coveres are lightly soiled. Previous owner's name written on front endpage, some smudging on first couple of pages, rest of pages are clean and very white. Fun fact: The Lensman series is widely considered to be the inspiration for the Green Lantern Corps from DC Comics.
