These are the novels of Samuel Richardson, presented in twenty volumes, however, this set is missing volumes 10 and 11, and there is damage to the top of the spine of volume 1. The Ranelagh editions feature reaised bumps, gilt letters and designs on half-bound red leather. Gilt paint to top edges. Black and white title illustrations in each by E.F. Burney and Thomas Stothard.
