Folio Society facsimile of the Kelmscott Chaucer. Full size facsimile, decorated similarly to the original. Includes woven bookmark which has started fraying. The original of this, bound by William Morris, is known to have revolutionized the printing game, and is one of the most important works in early bookmaking. Folio intends for this edition to be more economical and accessible to the public as true first editions can sell in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. The coverboards and spine are red with a gilt pattern. The pages are deckled. Minor separation between the foot of the spine and the pages, but does not affect tightness of spine or pages. The slipcase has gilt title on front. Minor rubbing and bumping on corners.
