The life and spirit of Albert Schweitzer are portrayed in rich dimension in this album of text & photos, which includes the only color portraits of the doctor & his jungle village hospital to appear in any book. Signed bookplate by Schweitzer collaborator Erica Anderson. Anderson established the Albert Schweitzer Friendship House in a renovated barn on property she had purchased in Great Barrington and made available to researchers her large collection of papers and memorabilia of the missionary and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, who died in 1965. Item is bowed, with soiling along all edges, and tanning throughout. DJ present with sunning across both front, and back. Bumping at corners.
