Covington, KY born local Robert F. Schulkers was the author of a series of children's novels published first between 1921 and 1932, although many appeared first in serialized form in The Cincinnati Enquirer and hundreds of other newspapers around the country.
The Red Runners is his children's adventure novel about a secret society of boys called the Blue Ribboners who work to stop a gang of criminals--the Red Runners--from committing robberies in their town of Riverport.
