Lovingly inscribed "To Papa / Christmas 1909." on first free endpaper. Light brown over dark brown boards, plain spine, with a relief portrait of Lincoln and the title in dark brown on front cover. Rubbing and bumping to edges, slight splitting at corners. No dust jacket. Fore and bottom edge deckled. Slight dent on top of fore edge. Frontispiece drawing of Lincoln meeting with a wounded solider, protected by tissue paper between it and title page, with some foxing on tissue paper. Slight instances of chipping and loss to page edges.
