The "Peralta Grant" also known as the "Barony of Arizona," was a scam perpetrated by James Addison Reavis to claim ownership of a vast portion of the Southwest based on fabricated documents. Originally granted to Don Luís María Peralta in1820, covered a large area in present-day California.
This book is inscribed "For Chester Wilson who once ranched on the Peralta grant." and signed by author.
