Ex-libris. Originally published in 1893, this is the Scribner's Cameo Edition, featuring a portrait etching of the author with his wife, Josephine by W.H. Hyde as well as a deluxe binding. Robert Grant was an American author and jurist with a profoundly sunny disposition. His writing career started in 1880 with his first release, The Confessions of a Frivolous Girl, a story of a fashionable life, dealing with the real-life challenges of young women. By the time this book was written, he was serving as a jurist from Harvard, where he would later review the famous Sacco and Vanzetti case weeks before their execution. The Cameo edition of this book features green boards, fully bound, with gilt-stamped border and title to front cover and spine, as well as a pink faded embossing on the front cover. Top page edge gilt. Pastedowns have Perrysburg, Ohio library inserts fixed to them, instances of foxing. Minor instances of toning on page faces.
