Third impression (printing) from Febuary 1909.
These two volumes were both library copies, which means there is sticker and tape residue on the spine which has since been removed. With the removal the front and back covers have sustained some damage. Both have a library check out slip and holder glued into the inside of the back cover. On the title page both books are pressure stamped with a seal for the Madison Wisconsin Edgewood Library, and both have a second stamp with the word "withdrawn" on top with red ink. Both spines have been stamped with the library logo, to humorous effect due to the deckeled edges obscuring the ability to read it. However, they are stamped correctly on the tops of the books.
Volume 1 has some small tears on the bottom of the outter spine. The inside cover has pen writing that says "M.B.Prell" and "1913." The preface page has pen writing with library markings "ND 237.W6P4" and "22615 V.1." There are some visible cracks in the binding between the last
