Overview

Carl is a bear who is feared by the animals in Pleasant Trees Wood. They were so scared that the animals would flee upon any loud crash, assuming Carl was looming. What they didn't know was Carl was lonely. Despite being feared by everyone, Carl still put in the effort to help the creatures of the wood by moving a log that blocked a trail or pushed a boulder out of the way without anyone knowing it was him. One day a bunch of squirrels were goofing around. It was all fun and games until one squirrel found himself in a precarious situation, stranded on a rock in the middle of a raging river. His friends' attempts to save him were futile. They simply didn't have the means to safely get him off that rock. Suddenly, Carl came bounding out of the brush. At first the squirrels feared their friend was a goner. When Carl instead rescued their friend, the squirrels were pleasantly surprised. The narrative of Carl being mean and ferocious quickly changed to his true nature, which was being kind and cuddly. Word quickly spread throughout the wood, and from that point on everyone knew of the true legend of Carl.
