Janice M. Rey, Ed.D. "Unknown to the reader, in 'The Kitten That Could Not Meow, ' Monroe weaves the identities of her own daughters into the characters of the story. This book is specially made for little hands and reassures young readers that they have a voice that will be heard while fostering warm feelings of acceptance and inclusion."
Christin Keirstead "We firmly believe that Monroe's wonderful books, brimming with kindness, deserve a spot in every cozy bookstore, allowing more people to delve into the enchanting worlds she creates. We are incredibly proud and honored that she selected us to be a part of this journey." DRAW and CARE, Ukraine "Amid all the four-legged charm, Monroe's story carries a crucial message: every animal-and child- deserves a safe place to belong. When the litter gets adopted one-by-one, leaving just the silent orange kitten behind, young readers may start to worry- but at the last moment, Grace, who is Deaf, swoops in and finds the orange kitten's silence a perfect fit, and her reverence at its vibrating purr is truly precious to see. This tenderhearted story delivers just the right dose of hope."
