He has written more than 1700 short stories, novellas, comic book scripts, teleplays, essays, critiques, and screenplays, including what many consider to be the best Star Trek episode, "The City on the Edge of Forever." He has won numerous awards, including multiple Hugos, Nebulas, and Edgars.
