Overview

Green cloth boards with gilded lettering on front and spine. Some minor fading on the gilt. Some minor rubbing along the edges of the boards. Contains the account of the 110 games played between March-April, 1924. The tournament was held at the Alamac Hotel, and organized by the Manhattan Chess Club. The competitors included world champion José Raúl Capablanca, Emanuel Lasker, Alexander Alekhine, Efim Bogoljubow, Géza Maróczy, Richard Réti, Savielly Tartakower Fred Yates, Frank Marshall, Dawid Janowski and Edward Lasker. The tournament was played as a double red robin. Emenuel Lasker won first prize for $1500.00. Capablanca won't second prize for $1000.00.
