The Biography of Stan Lee
Comic books were never his thing from the start. In fact, comic books during Stan Lee's boyhood years were primarily reprints from newspaper strips and looked more like books or magazines.
Years of writing monster comics and science fictions tinged with suspense and drama has honed the writing skills of Lee. The stories of the new superheroes he created would have elements of real-life events and pop culture moments as well as current political events. The stories were inspired by Cold War tensions at the time, as well as the space and nuclear weapon race.
Giving himself the latitude to take chances and explore his creativity, Lee took up the challenge to create "a team such as Comicdom had never known." He realized that this was a go-for-broke moment in his life. Those were his thoughts. Joanie's words were music to his ears: "You could dream up plots that have more depth and substance to them, and create characters who have interesting personalities..." he said.
