Overview

In Grayhaven, they say, "Glory to Ahur and to the Plain." They speak of the Forest Plain, the heart of the continent that, for five centuries, has prevented men from setting, farming, or travelling across with armies. It is the Plain they credit for their growth into the wealthiest nation on the continent.

In Spirt of the Plain, book one of The Unnamed trilogy, we meet COLLIER TRUITT, of Grayhaven. He is of aristocratic birth but flees after his grandfather's failed political machinations lead to the murder of their family. He is part Yurbo, through his father and seeks out his father's clan, determined to win their help in retaking his ancestral titles. This is not something the Yurbo due to the complicated peace they've made with the Plain and the spirit that controls it, which they call Allouhuille. He resolves that his only option is to stay till such a time he can return with some modicum or aid or a plan.

While in the plain, Collier faces mounting threats with his Yurbo hosts. One threat is the fearsome wolfmen known as Lyken, themselves refugees from colonized homeland. This includes the drunk and shaggy ARNAK, and his friend, the troubadour MOJAG. They flee for Grayhaven but run into the Yurbo. The greater threat is from the west. There, ASHLYN, an acolyte of the order of mages known as the Bruj, heads into the Forest Plain to complete her prophesized destiny to break the Plain's curse.
