Sparky the Baby Green Dragon
Christina and Maria, spending their holidays in the Greek village of Achinos with their
brother Costa and relatives, set off one hot afternoon in search of ice cream. What begins as
an ordinary errand quickly turns magical when Christina stumbles across a scaly green foot in
the olive grove. To her amazement, she finds herself face-to-face with Sparky-a lonely,
clumsy baby dragon who can hear human thoughts, flap tiny wings, and desperately longs to
master breathing fire.
Sparky's troubles quickly become the children's adventure. Maria discovers his missing pet
dog, while Costa arms himself with a water gun to defend them in case Sparky is not so
friendly. Chaos ensues as the children tumble together with Sparky in a comic heap.
Sparky's greatest wishes - flying and breathing fire - seem out of reach: With his mysterious
travel bag in tow, containing a dragon-sized toothbrush and a bottle of "Dragon Gas
Toothpaste," the children have other ideas and they unlock Sparky's hidden abilities one by
one.
Triumphant, Sparky joins the children on their walk back to the village-his dog at his side.
None of them stop to wonder how the villagers might react to their unusual new friend.
Blending humour, warmth, and fantasy with a distinctly Greek setting, Sparky the Baby
Green Dragon is a charming, fully illustrated children's story (16 colour illustrations) about
friendship, problem-solving, and embracing your inner fire. This uplifting book is ideal for
children aged 5-8, as well as parents, teachers and educators who want to support diversity,
inclusive learning, and emotional intelligence.
