Overview
John Lockhart was born in Alabama and emigrated with family to Texas. He was educated as a physician settling first in Washington, then, in Chappell Hill. He worked as a physican until the purchase of a plantation in Chappell Hill to which he retired. Bound in orange cloth covered boards with black text block on spine and gilt lettering. Previous library book with library sticker residue on boards and library info and card sleeve on first free endpaper. Library stamp and catalogue number on title page and page 1. Black and white photographs throughout.
