Richard Cummins Gannon was born September 19, 1952 with a life expectancy of less than 12 years. To the author's knowledge, in January, 2007, he is one of the oldest living persons who were diagnosed with cystic fibrosis as a newborn infant. Richard is the first person in Ohio to successfully undergo a triple-organ transplant, and the sixteen-hour surgery made medical news around the world In January, 1991, at University Hospitals of Cleveland, he received a new liver, kidney, and pancreas.
