A sketchbook of roadside Americana, with pen and ink sketches by the author! When Eric Sloane first made the journey from Long Island to Taos, New Mexico in 1925, all he had with him was a wooden Macy's box for his sign-painting equipment, a tin box for food, and an extra set of clothes, all kept in his Model T Ford that he drove the whole way in. 35 years later, Sloane took a literaly trip down memory lane, trying to recreate his original journey as close as possible. Through this book, the reader will not only be able to experience Sloane's art and sign-work, but also experience the roadside America of the mid-20th century.
