Prairie Farmer–WLS Cook Book, Centennial Edition was published by The Prairie Press, Chicago, in 1941. Edited by Gladys Blair, Home and Household Department Editor. Recipes were provided by agricultural extension staffs of the University of Illinois, University of Wisconsin, Purdue University, Michigan State College, the Poultry and Egg National Board, and the National Live Stock and Meat Board.
Hard cover book with 310 pages. Cover has a moderate amount of shelf wear. All pages are clean and clear. Hinges are in good shape. Binding is somewhat loose.
The cookbook has the traditional chapters of a comprehensive cookbook, plus chapters on festival menus, cooking for crowds, and a very special chapter of “Centennial Recipes,” with recipes from 1841, 1852, 1853, 1849, 1905, 1883, 1905, 1905, 1870, and more.
