Overview

Written by Hawthorne and his sister Elizabeth for educational use, these books, 2 volumes bound together as one, have review questions at the end of each chapter. This seems to be a true first edition. Though other sources suggest volume 2 was published 1850, there is one date of 1837 in both volumes. Front board is detached but present. Both boards substantially delaminated. Interior is clean and sound.
