Amelia Banks convinced her sister to leave California and spend a weekend at Deer Lodge, Montana. It was to prepare for their roles in an upcoming miniseries. Acting was something new for them, and Amelia thought visiting the ranch where they'd be filming would be good research.
Henry Sutter worked on the ranch breeding and training horses. He was anxious about the upcoming miniseries too, because several of his horses would be needed throughout the shoot.
Guests at Deer Lodge were free to explore the ranch with one exception: no guests were allowed in the barns without staff.
