Overview

The Buckman Journal Odd Guide is dedicating to noticing. Finding a pretty flower, or maybe one that looks a little scary, and allowing it to tell you a story. This may not be the only story. Many stories, perhaps truer, perhaps closer to reality, already exist. A flower has a rich history, perhaps it's been here for centuries, native to the soil it grows in used in a plethora of traditional practices, perhaps it was brought here and completely took over. Both are certainly true, important things and if you want to learn more about history, we suggest you do. However, our job here is not to educate. Our job is not to tell the facts about a thing, but to create our own. To tell a different story. To let pretty things be pretty and to tell made up tales about it's purpose.

All field entries written, illustrated, and/or photographed by members of Buckman Publishing's team: Edy Guy, Ellen Robinette, Emmi Greer, Rich Perin, and Kristine Corey.
