Overview

Beatrix Potter was a conservationist, a natural scientist, and an author and illustrator of children's literature. She began to study and draw small animals from a young age, and later developed an interest in natural science, especially mycology. In this biography for young readers, Dorothy Aldis details Potter's early life and artistic career. This work is considered a loose biography, as it takes factual situations and gives them imagined dialogue. This caused the book some criticism, as it was thought Aldis took too many creative liberties. Features soft, simplistic drawings by Richard Cuffari. Scuffing on dust jacket. Small tears on both top and bottom edges of front cover, small tear on top of back cover. Fraying on top and bottom edges of spine. Dust jacket is not clipped.
