Overview

First Edition. He was born as Thayendanegea, infamously called Mohawk, but he was best known as Joseph Brant. Raised among the natives but educated in the Western tradition, Brant was a Christian convert and a military and political leader of the Iroquois Mohawk peoples. He sought unity amongst his people and fought for their advocacy all his life. John Jakes, the prominent speculative fiction writer became enamored with this historical figure during visits to upstate New York. Dust jacket unclipped, minor rubbing at foot and crown of spine, minor closed tears and creasing at crown of jacket. Some toning on front cover of DJ where a sticker was once removed. Boards match dust jacket design.
