The NETFLIX series, LUPIN premiered on January 8, 2021, and became a huge hit worldwide. The series took inspiration from the stories and character created by Maurice Leblanc, a famous French novelist, and writer of short stories. Leblanc is primarily known as the creator of the fictional gentleman thief and detective Ars ne Lupin, often described as a French counterpart to Arthur Conan Doyle's creation, Sherlock Holmes.
The first Ars ne Lupin story appeared as a series of short stories, serialized in the magazine Je sais tout in 1905. The character, Ars ne Lupin, was featured in 17 novels and 39 short stories by Leblanc.
