Conlon's introduction explores the historical background, summarizes the content of the poem, analyzes its language and explains the editorial policy. Notes, an Appendix containing historical and literary texts that mention Eustache le Moine, a "Table des noms propres, noms de lieu," etc., a "Glossaire" and a "Bibliographie" conclude the edition.
