This is a collection of kids stories on prominent legends throughout history, including Davy Crockett, Johnny Appleseed, Pecos Bill, Windwagon Smith, Paul Bunyan, and John Henry. The stories are accompanied by colorful pictures adapted by Mel Crawford.
Part of the front board is torn off, but the title and all the images are still visible. Bumping and rubbing to the edges of the boards, the corners are torn enough to see the board underneath. Some more small tearing on the spine. The boards themselves are slightly discolored or have discoloration marks due to age, use, and storage. Previous owner insctription in blue pen on the paste down at the front. Staining at the bottom of the paste down and free endpaper at the back of the book.
