Overview

This first edition is in good condition with few flaws. There are some tears in the dust jacket; some small ones along the top edge and a large one at the bottom which has removed the illustrator's name. The dust jacket has been torn at the spine, but has been repaired and the dust jacket is mylared. A bookplate has been pasted down to the front flap but is completely covered by the dust jacket.This first edition is Smith's only children's title with a rare dust jacket. It is a second state dust jacket. Although there is some fading to the edges of the pages, there are beautiful illustrations inside.
