Overview
Overview
For many years, Erica Hunt has been interested in the intersection between poetry and emancipatory politics, between writing and social movements. Her writing shows us that to alter our reading strategies is related to how we frame experience, believe it to be fixed, mutable, capable of transformation. Hunt's work in racial and gender justice, in feminist ethics and participatory democracy has taken many forms including: activist, grant-maker, institution builder, leader, teacher and writer. Ultimately, she finds that words matter, savoring the small words, the articles, the pronouns and the plural and singular. This collection brings together works that have been out of print, along with journal gestures of the same period, to speak across time, the past seen from then to now.
