Overview
It is the Christmas of 1794 in France. The townspeople are downhearted because Napoleon has declared Christian worship against the law. Determined to celebrate Christmas, eight-year old Jacques sculpts his own Nativity set out of clay. As he meets neighbors along his travels, he depicts them in his Nativity set. Along the way Jacques develops a friendship with a Revolutionary soldier by giving him gifts and teaching him about the Christ Child.
