Two mid-1960s books featuring the wit and art of "most famous baby photographer in the world," (at least until Anne Geddes) Constance Bannister. It's a Riot to Diet was one of several books Bannister wrote humourous captions to accompany the black and white photographs of babies making various expressions on a particular theme. A year later, in 1966, Gerald Gardner used Bannister's pictures, but added his own captions to make a commentary on contemporary civil rights and political issues, but with the intent on lightheartedness given the juxtaposition of infants expressing more mature thoughts. While the subject matter is still relevant, it is up to the reader whether the humor is still acceptable to current times.
