"I thought I could make fudge to help pay the bills." Esther Price
Esther Price first started selling homemade fudged and chocolate candies out of her home in Dayton, Ohio in 1926. For 50 years she'd continue to "help pay the bills," even opening her first shop on Wayne Avenue in Dayton in 1952. For a full 50 years she'd operate the business and run the store-front, before selling the business to family friends. Now, there are nearly 90 Esther Price Store fronts across five states, with Dayton still at the heart of it all. This first edition of Esther Price's "Chocolate Covered Cherries" is where she recounts her memories of girlhood and life in Hamilton, Ohio, her marriage, and ultimately her life's calling where she has helped define and shape the history and image of the Gem City.
