After the completion of the 14-15 year old Girls' Softball Tournament, Eastside and Westside Crickets, everyone is leaving the field. As Sofia and her Dad reach the bleacher area, they are approached by Mayor Browne-one of the people who raised his hand when asked who knows Chalie Chalie.
As a young 16 year old boy, Mayor Browne shares how peer pressure led him to a gang, the affect it had on his grades at school and the feelings he had from the gang's illegal actions led him to run away from home. Encouraged by Sofia, her Dad and the group that has gathered at the bleachers, Mayor Browne shares his experience of his inner being who came to visit him in the form of a fun, energetic and positive minded cricket named Chalie Chalie. At first, Mayor Browne (Dominic) believes Chalie Chalie to be a part of a dream or illusion brought on by some hot tea he had gotten from the Bearded Lady at the circus. Dominic agrees to go with Chalie Chalie in return for helping Slim the Clown get his parrot to fly in a Circus Act. Even after helping Slim, Dominic is still reluctant to go with Chalie Chalie. Although Dominic is sure the hot tea is still in his system, he keeps his word and their adventures begins. As Dominic and Chalie Chalie go through their adventures, Dominic learns to believe in himself and realizes just how amazing he truly is.
