2 blue hardback volumes in slip case, both volumes have gilt lettering on spines and front covers have gilt reproductions of an early illustration from Le Morte Darthur. Slipcase has same reproduction of the front and a large white label on the spine with the title and information inside the books.
University of California Press, the first volume is the text, with illustrations below the heading of each chapter.
Tthe second volume has an introduction by James W. Spisak, notes, a glossary and a dictionary of names and places and a bibliography.
The work Le Morte Darthur ("The Death of Arthur" in Anglo-French) was a Middle-English retelling of the Arthurian legends by Sir Thomas Malory in the Fifteenth Century, published by William Caxton in 1485.
The book was one the first to be printed in England.
