First edition, inscribed, and signed by the author and illustrator. The book jacket description notes: "As honest as a pine tree and as refreshing as spring water, Cache Lake Country holds the secrets of how to live well in the woods." Book is covered in green cloth, with a small gilt illustration of a man carrying a canoe and gilt text on the spine. Bumping on corners, some cloth has worn off of corners and edges. Interior of cover and free pages have maps. Binding is tight; pages are age-toned. Dust jacket has tears, creases, and narrow missing pieces. There is a letter, possibly from the author, tucked into the book; although this is not confirmed.The book was authored by John J. Rowlands, and his collaborator, Henry B. Kane, is widely known for his photographand drawings in nature books.
