In Buffoonery on Woodhouse Avenue, the elderly (and sometimes slightly mysterious) bookkeeper Humboldt Prior again joins forces with the stylish, hard-charging TV news anchorwoman Penelope Rote to thwart a buffoonish political fund raising plot involving an absurd mayoral campaign, an inept art museum, and a historic cemetery. Hilarious misconceptions abound, as popular series characters reappear to vie with new arrivals in laugh producing buffoonery. Laugh out loud once more with Buffoonery on Woodhouse Avenue, $14.95 U.S. Mary Ann Grossmann's Saint Paul Pioneer Press reviews of Bob Garland's previous books of this series have included: "There's an old-fashioned charm to this story" (Woodhouse Avenue Follies); "The charming, quirky series will appeal to those who appreciate understated adventure with a likable protagonist" (Antics on Woodhouse Avenue); and, most recently, "Garland has created a sweet little world" (Nonsense on Woodhouse Avenue).
