This German language book contains letters and excerpts from letters by revolutionary Johann Philipp Becker, socialist philosopher Joseph Dietzgen, socialist philosopher Friedrich Engels, and Karl Marx to German political leader Friedrich Sorge and others. It has blue cloth boards, marbled page edges, and two pages of endmatter containing advertisements for other books by the same publisher. The boards are exposed in a few places on the top and bottom edges and the corners, which are lightly bumped. The top and bottom of the spine are frayed and the cloth is beginning to split along the front hinge. The endpapers appear to be more contemporary than the rest of the book and the binding appears to have been repaired in the past. The half title page has been taped together and has an inscription to a previous owner in the upper right corner.
