This is a facsimile reprint of celebrated printer and type designer Giambattista Bodoni's rare masterwork. Official printer for the Duke of Parma, Bodoni (1740-1813) declared that well-designed type derived its beauty from four principles: uniformity of design, sharpness and neatness, good taste, and charm. The culmination of more than four decades of work, this represents one of history's typographical achievements. The Bodoni typeface is still widely used even today. This book is bound in red cloth boards with white lettering. There is no dust jacket. This book is in very good condition, with light fading of the front board and light bumping at the corners of the boards.
