Overview

This is the first volume that considers the craft of Gomberville's novel through a textual and sociological approach and as a work of art. Edward Baron Turk provides an analysis of Polexandre's internal dynamics and underlying esthetics. Turk explains how the novel can be read as a musical score that stresses polyphonic variation over logical progression.
