Standard Library Edition, four volumes. The author, Albert Jeremiah Beveridge was an attorney, a Freemason, U.S. Senator from Indiana, and an important figure in the Progressive Era. HIs biography of Abraham Lincoln was started in his retirement cut short by his death with only two volumes complete. After his death, Beveridge's wife handed over his notes and research to Carl Sandberg, and two more volumes were published posthumously.
