Overview

William Ellsworth Robinson was an American magician who went by the stage name Chung Ling Soo. He is mostly remembered today for his accidental death due to a failed bullet catch trick. His magic act included impersonating a Chinese man in order to add to his sense of "mystique," a practice that would be completely unacceptable today, and likely earned him criticism in his time as well. This fascinating biography contains many black and white photographs of Robinson in and out of "costume," as well as many color prints of his various promotional posters. Condition notes: Some light creasing around the edges of the dust jacket, and a light yellow rectangular stain in the top right corner of the dust jacket caused by a previously placed price tag.
