Sam had a dream, he wanted to get married and settle down. His problem was there were no jobs in Texas right after the civil war. His only hope was to start his own ranch. When he got the land he still had no money. He started catching the wild horses that ran free and gently training them, then selling the horses to the US government, for carvery mounts. He would take the horse money and buy a few cows from one of the large ranches. In a few years he could get married and have a family. Mattie Ann had a dream to get married as soon as she met the right man. They had a collision of dreams about Texas in the late 1800'S. Which makes a wonderful fun filled action story.
